How to Measure Volumetric Weights
All the information you need about the Volumetric and Actual weight of each package.
What is Volumetric Weight?
Volumetric weight, sometimes called dimensional weight, is a way to determine the space a package occupies during shipping. It helps shipping companies decide how much to charge you, taking into account the size of your parcel.
This means that even if your package isn't very heavy and takes up a lot of space, you may still be charged based on its volumetric weight.
How to Measure Volumetric Weight
Volumetric weight can be calculated by:
- Measuring the length, breadth, and height of your package in centimeters (in cm)
- Multiplying these dimensions together and dividing the result by 5000
The final figure you get represents your volumetric weight. This measurement is crucial for accurate shipping cost calculations and ensuring efficient logistics.
